Pal's coming to Norton?

Restaurants are always hiring because people don't usually want to make a career out of it, not because the work is so hard. It's been younger people working at these places for years and years, it's not going to change.

Problem is, at least in my opinion, is the attitude of some of the managers, who around here only promote, give good shifts or look out for their partying pals. Or their fellow hoochies. Or druggies or whatever the case is.

You go into most of the places, you find someone who works hard at them, and go back within a fairly short time, they either have assimilated and become one of the ones who sit around needing there 20th cig. break since they got there 2 hours ago, or they are sick and tired of being there and getting the crap end of things and are ready to quit or have already quit.

The good workerss tend to get stuck always working the holidays, closing and actually stuck doing the work, so they burn out and get tired and fed up. I may be crazy but in most of those places, where they do have difficulty finding good workers, I'd be trying to give the good workers all benefits that I could and if others complained, then tell them exactly why some get good shifts and others don't.

well for me i am a manager of a fast food rest and this is in no way the case, when u have very little to choose from in terms of the work force u dont have time or the opportunity as you put it to "play favorites" most ppl now a daysand correct me if im wrong want a paycheck but dont want to work for it, why should they work when every month they can sit at home and collect a state or federal check and then come out to eat and spend $30/meal.

Well you might be the exception to the rule, but it might be good to find someone who isn't you or one of your friends to verify that, because very few of the managers probably ever think that they do any wrong.

I agree that its hard to find people to do the job when they can get paid money to sit home and pop out kids, but I've walked in to enough fast food places, and most of the time within a few visits you can just about pick the managers favorites.
